Founded 1807, the church was originally St Paul’s. The cornerstone from first St Matthew’s building on the site is dated 1856. The cornerstone of present building is dated 1924. In 2007, we celebrated our congregation’s 200th anniversary. In 2025, we celebrated our building’s 100th anniversary.
St. Matthew Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) within the Upper Susquehanna Synod.
